Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, at room temperature
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (or 190°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs and vanilla extract and beat until well mixed.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, and stir until just mixed.
  6. Stir in the chocolate chips.
  7. Drop spoonfuls of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes, until the edges of the cookies are lightly golden.
  9. Cool the cookies on a wire rack for a few minutes before serving.
