Chocolate Covered Strawberries

A classic dessert that is simple, delicious and easy to make. Use extra rich chocolate for an especially decadent chocolatey treat.

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound strawberries
  • 8 ounces of chocolate (dark or milk)
  • Optional toppings: chopped nuts, sprinkles, shredded coconut, etc.

Instructions:

  1. Wash and dry the strawberries. Leave the stems on.
  2. Melt the chocolate in a double boiler or in the microwave, stirring occasionally.
  3. Dip each strawberry into the melted chocolate, using a spoon or a fork to coat it completely.
  4. Place the chocolate-covered strawberries onto a lined baking sheet.
  5. Optional: sprinkle chopped nuts, sprinkles, or shredded coconut on top of the chocolate before it cools.
  6. Refrigerate for 30 minutes or until the chocolate has hardened.

Serving suggestion: Serve as a light dessert after a meal or as a sweet snack.
