Chocolate Covered Strawberries
A classic dessert that is simple, delicious and easy to make. Use extra rich chocolate for an especially decadent chocolatey treat.
Ingredients:
- 1 pound strawberries
- 8 ounces of chocolate (dark or milk)
- Optional toppings: chopped nuts, sprinkles, shredded coconut, etc.
Instructions:
- Wash and dry the strawberries. Leave the stems on.
- Melt the chocolate in a double boiler or in the microwave, stirring occasionally.
- Dip each strawberry into the melted chocolate, using a spoon or a fork to coat it completely.
- Place the chocolate-covered strawberries onto a lined baking sheet.
- Optional: sprinkle chopped nuts, sprinkles, or shredded coconut on top of the chocolate before it cools.
- Refrigerate for 30 minutes or until the chocolate has hardened.
Serving suggestion: Serve as a light dessert after a meal or as a sweet snack.
